Protecting America Initiative Releases New Florida Poll Showing Broad Support for Lawmakers Who Address U.S. Dependence on Chinese Medical Devices

Voters reward candidates who crack down on Chinese medtech firms and protect Americans’ data

The Protecting America Initiative, a conservative nonprofit organization focused on safeguarding the nation from Communist China’s growing influence, released new polling today that found Floridians strongly support lawmakers who address the dependence the U.S. has on Chinese-made medical devices. These voters are overwhelmingly concerned about data privacy risks associated with U.S. hospitals using medical technologies from Chinese companies.

Nearly three-quarters (72%) of Floridians say the U.S. is too dependent on Chinese-made medical technologies. The survey also finds that Floridians want government action to secure hospital networks, investment in trusted domestic manufacturing, and medical technology that comes from reliable, non‑adversarial sources.

Key findings from the survey include:

  • 80% of respondents are worried that Chinese medical companies operating in the U.S. could be compelled to follow CCP directives that jeopardize patient data.

  • 81% of respondents would be more likely to support a candidate who cracks down on Chinese medical companies operating in the U.S.

  • 63% would be more likely to support a candidate who backs restricting federal funding for hospitals using Chinese-made devices.

  • 86% support limiting partnerships with companies that have ties to foreign governments.

  • 57% back restricting federal funding for hospitals that rely on Chinese devices.

Protecting America Initiative surveyed N=600 likely general election voters in Florida from October 29–30, 2025.
