New Six-Figure Ad Campaign Highlights National Security Threat of Chinese-Made Medical Supplies
New Ad From Protecting America Initiative to Air on TV and Digital Across Washington, DC
The Protecting America Initiative (PAI), an organization dedicated to combating the threat of Communist China, today announced a new ad highlighting the serious threat posed by Chinese-manufactured medical devices and the risk of sensitive U.S. patient data going straight to Beijing.
The 30-second spot, “Monitoring,” is backed by a six-figure buy and will air on TV and digital in Washington, DC, over the next three weeks. The ad closes by stating: “Let’s get China out of our health care.”
PAI polling from September found that 75% of Americans are concerned about importing Chinese medical devices, underscoring the widespread unease around data security and foreign control of health technologies.
TRANSCRIPT:
China wants our data. And now, they’re using our own hospitals to get it.
Not only is China monitoring our phones, but they’re using lifesaving medical technology from Chinese companies.
At check-ups, during surgery — Americans are vulnerable to Chinese data mining… without ever knowing it.
President Trump’s already getting tough on China, but there’s more to do.
Let’s end the data breaches once and for all.
Let’s get China out of our health care.
This latest campaign builds on a growing body of evidence showing China’s attempts to infiltrate American life through everyday technologies. Just last week, a lawsuit alleged that baby monitors sold to U.S. families may have been transmitting information back to Beijing.
President Trump has already taken meaningful steps to push back on Chinese influence more broadly. His strong tariffs have signaled that America will defend its industries against unfair practices, and the recent deal by the President to transfer ownership of TikTok demonstrates a growing awareness of the need to secure U.S. data from foreign adversaries.
Leaders outside of the Protecting America Initiative have also taken notice of the threat from the CCP. The issue has also drawn state-level scrutiny: in June, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued subpoenas to companies suspected of selling devices that could send patient data to China.
