New Battleground Poll Finds Voters Want Protection for American Agricultural Producers Amid Global Threats
Amid Iranian Conflict, Voters Across 24 Competitive Congressional Districts Will Reward Candidates Who Follow Trump’s Lead to Protect Domestic Manufacturers and Support 2026 Farm Bill
The Protecting America Initiative (PAI), a conservative nonprofit organization focused on safeguarding the nation from Communist China's growing influence, today released a new survey of the nation’s top battleground congressional districts showing overwhelming concern about America's dependence on foreign adversaries like China for critical agricultural inputs and strong support for the 2026 Farm Bill as the solution.
As conflict in Iran disrupts shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, threatening the flow of agricultural inputs American farmers depend on, voters in 24 of the most competitive congressional districts in the country agree: we must do everything in our power to protect the domestic agriculture supply to keep food prices low.
The polling finds these same voters will reward candidates who follow President Trump’s leadership to safeguard America’s agriculture manufacturers by supporting the 2026 Farm Bill.
President Trump recently invoked the Defense Production Act to protect America’s agricultural manufacturers to reduce our reliance on foreign adversaries like China. Just this week, President Trump posted a statement to Truth expressing his support for the 2026 Farm Bill, stating: “CONGRESS, PASS THE FARM BILL NOW!”
Key findings from the survey include:
87% of battleground voters are concerned about the prospect of America having to import even more agricultural inputs from China in the future.
87% are also concerned knowing that American farmers already source more than 70% of agricultural inputs like fertilizers and pesticides from China.
79% express concern about the availability and affordability of fresh fruits and vegetables if U.S. farmers cannot adequately source fertilizer due to shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
51% agree that restricting U.S.-made crop protection products doesn't make food safer; it simply shifts production to China, where there is no regulatory oversight.
50% agree (+20 net) that when politicians and pro-CCP trial lawyers try to block the Farm Bill protecting domestic crop protection, they are creating serious national security risks.
63% support providing legal protections for domestic agricultural input manufacturers through the Farm Bill to keep costs stable.
Candidates who support the Farm Bill see a significant electoral benefit: 55% of battleground voters say they would be more likely to support them, versus just 17% less likely (+38 net).
